I jumped up from the seat with great dismay, I thought that maybe I'd gone insane! Down hallways I ran till I saw the front door, "if I could just get outside, I’ll lose it for sure!” But when I arrived, I saw nothing had changed And that to my head, the thought bubble was chained. I know what you’re thinking, this cannot exist! yet it gets weirder still as the plot takes a twist. |
That hangs over their heads and follows them around?
Well it isn’t a cloud that’s following you see.
It’s a thought bubble filled with one’s own thinking!
No one is cursed by something up in the sky
No magical force making us sad inside.
It’s the thoughts in our heads creating our moods
And we have the power to change our own tunes.”
Well, I had so much faith in this new insight I decided to test it to make sure it was right. So I started to think of the happiest things, What makes me smile, dance, laugh, and sing. Ten seconds in, my thought bubble changed. It started to lighten and let up on the rain. In less than a minute, the cloud disappeared And in its place, a sun had appeared. You know those people who glow from their skin? It’s their happy thoughts shining from within! |
And what if you see someone else in the rain, Of their own gloomy thoughts causing them pain? You might start to think, “Why should I care? I’m not in their head in the dark of their lair.” Well that, my friend, is the greatest mistake To assume you are free from another’s heartache. For thought bubbles can grow to such a great size that they’ll rain on you when you’re just passing by. |
