Zen Speed

Just strolling along at zen speed.

"What is zen speed," you ask?
"Is it fast or slow?"

Well, I like to think of zen speed as the speed you travel on the path of least resistance.

In a way it feels fast because there's no resistance or friction. In a way it feels slow, because there's no rush, no forcing, no pressure.

You are just traveling at whatever speed the current of life is flowing...maybe it's a rushing river, a waterfall, or a slow moving creek.

Some say that zen speed is not a speed at all. It actually transcends time because you are so in the moment you are hardly aware of time passing.

Either way, it feels peaceful because instead of struggling to go faster or slower or in a different direction, you are letting yourself be carried by the current.

Fear not, my fine feathered friends

Who could possibly be afraid of an organization whose initials stand for Insane Stupidity of Immense Size?

Oh yeah...ignorance and lack of education/awareness is the leading cause of pain and innocent deaths globally.

For what is ignorance, but blindness, darkness, yes? Dark is the essence of stupidity and we all have our blind spots.

But without the dark there can be no light. Without bad, there could be no contrast that we call good. There'd be nothing...

These events have nothing to do with a concept we perceive as "evil", where someone or something is actually benefiting from these actions hurting others and somehow taking pleasure in it. Acts of such immense stupidity hurt everyone, even the perpetrator. It is simply the darkness being dark, which brings more contrast to the light.

Whether we like it or not, so long as we exist on the physical plane there will always be this contrast.

So, as a wise wizard named Gandalf once said, our job is to figure out "what to do with the time that is given to us"...in this earthly physical duality-based reality (including science-based duality - atoms that make up mass are made up of positive and negative charges).

There is one thing I believe may be a universally shared desire: to feel happy, to feel good, to feel worthy, to feel bliss, joy, ecstasy, love, wonder.

So that is our mission. To feel those feelings as much as possible. What greater "good" impact on humanity than to spread joy?

NOTE: What is written above doesn't discount or even contradict the fact that the event is heartbreakingly sad for those involved. But if you step back, what I propose above is the larger picture and forces at work here.
